Government Partnership Officer at Pandawa Agri Indonesia
PARTNERSHIP OFFICER – East Nusa Tenggara
The WHY
Being a smallholder farmer in Indonesia is challenging. They have small land ownership, a high input price, a long distribution chain, and marketing issues that are the most critical and can determine yield price. No wonder the majority of Indonesian smallholder farmers live in poverty.
Moreover, farmers in Nagekeo, NTT, live in rural areas, which makes them far from information compared to farmers in Java. They were left behind. Their yield productivity is a bit lower than the average national productivity.
PAI has a smallholder initiative that aims to make millions of farmers more prosperous by increasing their yields and productivity through our sustainable agriculture practice, ‘PPAI technology’. Collaboration between the private sector and the government will accelerate achieving this prosperity, so we need a team to work together with local governments.
If you have the desire to do this life-changing work, here are the criteria for the person we are looking for.
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, law, social science or a major in any field
- Have experience to advocate policy in local government or national government
- Have good communication skills with the government or any stakeholders
- Willing to be placed in at Mbay, NTT
What will you do?
You will be working closely not only with the local government but also with civil society, and local champions. A good understanding of the local government system, the government financial system, and public policies will be your daily learning goals.
As this smallholder initiative is a new thing, your initiative and sociopreneur soul will make it succeed. Last but not least, a commitment to zero fraud is inevitable.
We’ll wait for you in this rural yet beautiful area, at the heart of Flores, Nagekeo – East Nusa Tenggara!
