Palembang, August 28, 2025 — Pandawa Agri Indonesia (PAI), Indonesia’s first agri life-science company, has once again partnered with Wilmar to host the Sustainability and Safety use of Pesticide Use Workshop. Following its earlier success in Central Kalimantan, this year’s forum took place over two days in Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) and Musi Banyuasin (MUBA), bringing together more than 80 participants ranging from field operators to plantation management.
The initiative was designed to strengthen understanding among plantation workers and managers on sustainable agricultural practices and the safe use of pesticide. The forum was divided into two key sessions:
- Operational Session tailored for field operators and sprayers, focusing on safe, efficient, and responsible spraying practices. This session equipped participants with practical skills to minimize health risks for workers while supporting more environmentally responsible operations.
- Management Session centered on Smart Practices for Pesticide Use in Sustainable Oil Palm Plantations. Discussions highlighted how PAI’s innovations support Wilmar’s sustainability goals: reducing chemical inputs, safeguarding biodiversity, and cutting Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions from purchased goods and services by up to 30%.
During this session, PAI also introduced Yosky Pro®, a high-purity p-glufosinate formulation produced through advanced green manufacturing processes that minimize waste and emissions. With 100% purity, the product improves weed control effectiveness, reduces required application dosages, and lowers chemical residues in the environment. Yosky Pro® was developed in collaboration with Nusamas Kimia Persada, part of the Sinarmas Group.
“This forum reflects PAI’s commitment to ensuring that sustainability extends beyond product innovation and is also reflected in field practices. We aim to support Wilmar and other partners in achieving their ambitious targets, particularly in reducing chemical inputs, protecting biodiversity, and cutting emissions,” said Junia Anindya, Corporate Sustainability and Communications Manager, PAI.
PAI’s support aligns with Wilmar’s consistent commitment to implementing sustainability principles across its operations. Abdul Aziz M. Purba, General Manager of Musi Banyuasin Wilmar, emphasized, “This forum is very valuable as it directly reaches our field workers. They gained new knowledge on how to work more safely while protecting the environment. Training like this helps us ensure that sustainability is not only a corporate policy but is truly understood and applied by employees in their daily work.”

With the successful implementation of this forum, PAI and Wilmar reaffirmed the importance of collaboration in driving sustainable plantation practices. This initiative is expected to provide long-term benefits for both workers and the environment, while serving as proof of their shared and ongoing commitment for the present and future.
PAI’s contribution was also recognized by Armadi Sayuti, General Manager of Ogan Komering Ilir Wilmar, who noted, “We see tangible benefits from PAI’s innovations, especially in operational efficiency. With reductants, pesticide use is significantly reduced, keeping costs under control while maintaining sustainability standards. This is fully aligned with our commitment to managing plantations responsibly while staying competitive.”
Novrian Raharja, Head of Customer Success at PAI, stated, “With a vision to drive a healthier and more sustainable agriculture, PAI is committed to expanding educational programs across different regions. Through initiatives like this, we hope sustainability will not only remain a discourse, but truly become an embedded culture in plantation operations throughout Indonesia.“
